Best Time to Visit Jaisalmer

The best time to visit the Sam sand dunes is during the month of October to March. In the month of February, the festival is conducted to show case the cultural heritage of Rajasthan which includes various competitions, puppet shows, races, Biggest Mustache show and various local events.

The best time to reach Sam sand dunes is around evening (sunset) at around 4-7 PM or early morning, during sunrise time of 4 to 6 AM.

You can reach the Sam sand dunes from Jaisalmer Airport.


Two trains are operational from Old Delhi by which u can reach Jaisalmer. The Delhi-Jaisalmer Express and the Corbett Park Link Express. Both the trains have A.C. compartments.

Each Sunday the Luxury Train Palace on Wheels stops at Jaisalmer. Once you reach the station , you can always take an auto ride to the heart of the city. In addition, there local and Express trains also between Jaisalmer and Jodhpur.
