Palace on Wheels contains 23 coaches with a maximum of 82 tourist’s capacity. Sawai Madhopur

The Palace on Wheels has Sawai Madhopur as one of the important destination. The place is situated between two cities Kota and Bikaner and named after its founder Sawai Madho Singh. The place attracts a number of visitors every year.

The train starts its journey from the capital city New Delhi and reaches Rajasthan covering Agra. You have to board the train from Safdarjung Railway station located in South Delhi which is at a distance of 30 minutes drive from the center of the city.

How to Book the Tour

The Palace on Wheels is managed and controlled by tourism department of Rajasthan Government.

  • For booking a tour in Palace on Wheels departure dates with number of persons and cabins are required in advance.
  • The name/sex/nationality of all the passengers is required for booking the tickets.
  • An advance payment of minimum 25% of the total amount is required for the confirmation of the tickets.
  • The balance payment must reach the authority within 61 days before the departure of the train.
  • Passport copies of all the passengers with Indian visa is required.
  • The payments can be done either by Online Credit Card authorization or Bank Wire Swift Transfer.
  • There is a 10% discount on the ticket price for the children below the age 12, but you have to provide the authorities with the date of birth certificate.
