All You Need to Know
The main railway station of Mumbai is the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus or CSMT. It is a famous tourist attraction by itself. You can also find trains starting from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus or Dadar Central Station of Mumbai.
In Goa, the main railway station is the Margao station in South Goa. If you choose to reach north Goa, select trains which stop at the Thivim Station.

22119 – Mumbai CST- Karmali Tejas Express
This is a semi-luxury Tejas Express, which is a high-speed train. The train takes just eight hours to reach Goa from Mumbai. The train starts from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 5:50 am. The train reaches Karmali station of North Goa by 2 PM, on the same day. The train runs three days a week (Saturday, Tuesday, and Thursday) between mid-June and October. During the rest of the months, the train runs for five days a week (no service on Monday and Thursdays). If you are choosing peak monsoon season, the train travel time will be slightly higher, as the train keeps up a slow speed.

12051 – Jan Shatabdi Express
This is an economic train running from Dadar central station to Madgaon station in Southern Goa. This budget train has a luxury Vistadome carriage too. The vistadome carriage has glass ceiling and large windows to enjoy the scenery as the train runs through the Konkan railway route. The train starts at 5:12 am from Mumbai and reaches Goa by 2:10 pm. It also stops for a few minutes at Thivim station of North Goa.

Travelling by Train during Monsoon Season
