Saudi Arabia is introducing its first luxurious five-star train known as Dream of the Desert that is offering a unique way to explore the beauty of the Country. This train is being developed by Saudi Arabia Railway (SAR) in partnership with Arsenale which is a famous Italian Hospitality company. The main aim of this project is to provide a high-end travel experience, that blends with the comfort and heritage of Saudi Arabia.
The awaited final design of this train has now been released, which marks an important step in the agreement signed between Saudi Arabia Railway and Arsenale last year. One of the aims of this project is to highlight Saudi Arabia's efforts to boost its tourism and improve its transportation simultaneously.

The interior of this train has taken inspiration from the vast desert and ancient architecture of Saudi Arabia. Warm earth tones and fine materials create a relaxing and eye-soothing design in a traditional pattern inside the compartment.
Many elements inside the train are inspired by Saudi landmarks, such as Hegra and the historical reign namely Hail. The intention behind this is not only to make the journey comfortable but also to create a relaxing and luxurious space for its guests. This train consists of 14 carriages and it has 34 high-end suites which provide an exclusive and private atmosphere to its guests, ensuring that they enjoy a peaceful and elegant trip throughout the journey.
The journey will start from Riyad which is the capital city of Saudi Arabia and it passes through the northern railway while crossing some of Saudi Arabia’s most stunning natural and historical locations. Travelers will get a chance to experience the most stunning natural and historical location of the country and experience the top quality hospitality at the same time.
The make your journey even more special, this train will feature the cultural program which is developed with the help of the Ministry of Culture of Saudi Arabia. These programs allow travelers to experience Saudi traditions in a more meaningful way.
In between, the Saudi Tourism Authority and the Development Authorities Support Centre are working together to create e a travel plans that fits well with the train route and also gives its guests a deeper understanding of the Country's heritage.

Paolo Barletta who is the CEO of the Arsenale Group has expressed his excitement about this project. He said ‘This is not just a train – it is a mixture of beautiful design, excellent services, and Saudi tradition is coming together in this unforgettable journey.
The Dream of the Desert train is expected to start its services by the end of the third quarter of 2026. Though the information about the train packages and their booking details is not available yet, it will soon be released by the government on the official website.
